Bristol & West Crest (Winchester)
Year Completed : 1978
Size : 64cm x 96cm (2ft x 3ft)
Client : Bristol & West
Location : 93 High Street, Winchester
Current Status : Bristol & West sold the branches to Britannia Building Society and this in turn is now a Co-Operative Bank. The crest remains on the front of the building. In a phone call to this Co-Operative branch in May 2015 they confirm that it is still there.
- This is another crest from a different branch but it is the same as the crest at Winchester.
- Image from Google Streetview (May 2014) showing the crest high up on the corner of the Co-Operative Bank.
- When the branch became Britannia Building Society.
- An older image from the internet showing the Bristol & West branch with the crest high up on the corner of the building.
We produced several crests in buff and terracotta clays which went to their head office as well as a number of smaller branches.
The crest for Winchester can be seen high up on corner of the building at 2nd floor level. The version was made with crimson, blue and gold lustres.
