MURALWATCH - do you have any information about this missing mural?
Bradford & Bingley sold the branches to Abbey National which in turn became Santander. We would love to hear from anyone within the past or current banking groups if they know anything about the whereabouts of this mural. The yellow marker is loosely placed on Bromley as we can't use Google Street view to reach this area as it is pedestrianised and the Google car never covered it.
The mural was based on a map of Bromley published by J Rocque in 1844. We elaborated on various details to give the feeling of a little community such as this would have been at the time, for in the early 19th century Bromley was just a small village on the edge of London. In the spirit of 17th century maps we depicted housing in elevation. We made little houses to represent the town, roads, trees, sheep, a windmill and formal gardens.
